Increase in Energy Tariff in Buenos Aires Province

The province of Buenos Aires has announced an increase in the energy tariff of up to 3.3%. Governor Axel Kicillof attributed this adjustment to the policies of President Javier Milei, as established by Resolution 120/2025 published in the Official Bulletin of the province. Kicillof explained that this increase is due to the new rise by the National Government, which includes the transfer of the variation in national wholesale prices and the reduction of subsidies for low- and middle-income users.

In an official statement, it was noted that an adjustment of the Distribution Value Added (DVA) is also planned, which will result in an average increase of 2.3% in the final bill for residential users. According to the new tariff table, a residential user N1 (with high income) who previously paid $34,840 per month will now pay $35,400, an increase of 1.6%. In the case of a user N2 (with low income and social tariff Group 2), the cost will increase from $20,900 to $21,600, which is an increase of 3.3%.

This tariff adjustment, which will take effect tomorrow, will be reflected in the consumption for the month of March and will appear on the bills in April. In addition, the province informed about the execution of 51 works, including Transformer Stations, with a total estimated investment of $790 billion, with the aim of improving the quality of electrical service. So far, since 2019, 12 interventions have been completed, 4 are in execution, 3 are in the bidding process (2 medium voltage and 1 high), 20 are projects, and the rest are in the planning circuit.
